Beyond Pediatric Trauma Response is a collaborative education initiative developed by Sandal Blue Foundation
in partnership with Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC).
Together, we are working to strengthen pediatric emergency response by combining lived experience with evidence-informed education,
helping EMS agencies, fire departments, police forces, emergency departments, and trauma teams better understand the
lasting impact of pediatric trauma and the small moments that can make a meaningful difference for children and their families.
What is Beyond Pediatric Trauma Response?
Beyond Pediatric Trauma Response is an educational initiative developed through a collaboration between Sandal Blue Foundation and Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC). Designed for emergency responders and healthcare professionals, this presentation shares the pediatric family perspective while offering practical strategies that can lessen the lasting impact of trauma on children and their families. Meet the Instructor, Seantae Jackson
Seantae Jackson is the Founder & Executive Director of Sandal Blue Foundation and serves as a Family Advisor Network (FAN) with Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC). Following a catastrophic motor vehicle incident that left her family navigating pediatric trauma firsthand, she has dedicated her work to improving the experience of children and families affected by serious injury.
Seantae is a professional speaker and educator who presents nationally to healthcare professionals, emergency responders, and community organizations. Through partnerships with hospitals, EMS agencies, healthcare organizations, and emergency responders, Seantae shares the family perspective to strengthen pediatric emergency response. Her presentations combine lived experience, practical strategies, and heartfelt gratitude to help providers better understand the lasting impact of the care they deliver — often in ways they may never see.
